Josh Pond specializes in aged goat cheese. Our goats live a blessed life: sleeping in a timber-framed barn, eating organic grain and hay, and having acres of healthy pasture and forest to spend their days. The cheeses of Josh Pond are handmade in small batches in the tradition of artisan farmstead cheesemaking. During the summer months, we make a variety of aged goat cheeses such as Gouda, Tomme, and Swiss styles. During the winter, we make a special cow's milk Tomme, rubbed with organic olive oil and wild organic blueberries. Each wheel of cheese is made with the fresh high-quality raw milk from our organically raised Swiss-breed goats, or organic cow's milk from our neighbors, Tide Mill Farm. As herdsmen and cheesemakers, our goat’s individual health, safety, and livelihood are centered at the forefront of our husbandry practices. Our cheeses breathe of the lush pasture and fresh air of our Down East home.
