Allison Lakin founded Lakin's Gorges Cheese in 2011, working in leased space. In 2017, she moved into her new, permanent location, East Forty Farm in Waldoboro.
She makes fresh and aged cow's milk cheeses: the wonderfully versatile Basket Ricotta; bite sized Jig; mushroomy Medallion; decadent Prix de Diane; sharp and nutty Opus 42; grassy Morgan; funky Grandiflora; and peppery Cascadilla Bleu. She also produces small batches washed with local beer and spirits.

Visit the Farm Store year round, for the widest selection of cheese and farm raised pork and duck. Cooking classes and Farmhouse Table Suppers are offered at the farm, as well as a farm stay option.
