Fredrikson-Farm
Fredrikson Farm is located in China Village, Maine on a 70 acre parcel of land that borders the inlet to China Lake. Fredrikson Farm is owned and operated by Ed and Dianna Fredrikson. After years of owning goats and participating in 4H with our daughters we made the decision in 2010, to build a new dairy that would enable us to grow our herd and provide a quality product to the Maine Market. It was a labor of love and has taken us 5 years to complete. In 2015, we became a licensed dairy and began selling our fresh chevre' throughout the Camden, Belfast, Rockport and Damariscotta markets.

We welcome visitors to our farm. We are here the majority of the time, but suggest calling prior to arrival to make sure we are able to provide you with a tour of our facility and meet our family of goats. We are proud of what we have done and we love to show it to all those that have an interest. You can contact us through our website or by calling to set-up a tour at 207-242-3226.

Imagine-Dairy
The Imagine Dairy began in 2009, when Arlene moved to Maine to apprentice on a goat dairy.   She immediately fell in love with the goats that she was learning to milk and began dreaming up the Imagine Dairy Farm. In 2014, Arlene began renting space in the creamery at Fuzzy Udder to start her own line of cheeses. The partnership worked and the Imagine Dairy was licensed later that summer. Arlene began her line of cheeses with what she learned best from apprenticing: creamy, dreamy cheese spreads made with organic cow's milk and herbs from her garden. Hullabaloo debuted the following spring and the line of cheeses continues to grow.

In 2016, we will begin bottling our own raw goat's milk and goat's yogurt from our small, but growing herd of dairy goats. You can find Arlene at the Camden Farmers' Market on Saturdays and the Damariscotta Farmers' Market on Monday afternoons during the summer. Visit our website for more information and a list of local shops that carry our cheese.

North-Branch-Farm
We are a family owned and run diversified farm that produces organic mixed vegetables, nursery fruit trees, u-pick blueberries, grass-fed beef, and farmstead cheese. We specialize in aged, raw milk, hard and semi-hard cheeses made from our own grass-fed milk. We produce milk and cheese seasonally (May-November) which allows for us to make all of our cheese while our cows are eating the highest quality feed of the year. The diversity and vitality of the pasture they eat is captured and reflected in the complex flavors that develop in our cheeses as they age in an underground cave for 8-12 months.

Our farm has been in operation since 2009, we've been a licensed dairy since 2011, and a licensed creamery since 2015. We strive to produce high-quality food for our community while improving our land from year-to-year. It has been our goal to use as little fossil fuel in our farming practices as possible. We use a combination of horsepower, hand power, and tractor power as well as wood to heat our creamery and hot water.

Please visit our website for more information about our farm and where and how to purchase our cheese.

North-Island-Turner-Farm

North Island Creamery at Turner Farm Was licensed in 2010, and is located on North Haven island. We originally produced cheeses from a small herd of Oberhasli goats, and later included Jersey Cows to our dairy herd. We now focus solely on products made with our grass-fed Jersey milk. We also sprout organic grains to supplement our cows' diets, which we think adds a naturally sweeter flavor to our milk and cheeses. Our cows graze on salt-water pastures, overlooking Penobscot Bay.

Our creamery produces a few varieties of hard cheeses, a soft-ripened variety, fresh spreads, butter, yogurt, and bottled raw milk. We also grow 3 acres of vegetables, and raise Tamworth pigs. You can find our products at our on-farm farmstand, at our partner business Nebo Lodge and Restaurant, and at a few Vinalhaven retail locations.

Reviving the farm took a lot of love and hard work, but in 2015 we were delighted to receive our license as a commercial dairy. With the help of our Alpine and Nubian goats, we are now making fresh and aged cheese.

In 2016 we will have chèvre, feta, Gouda and Asiago for sale, as well as raw milk and yogurt. We sell our cheese directly from the farm on Sunday, at which time you are welcome to hike the farm trails. You can also find our cheese at the farmer's market at Mill Park in Augusta on Tuesdays, as well as Washington General Store.

Silvery-Moon-Creamery
Silvery Moon Creamery has been crafting quality artisanal cheeses since 2003. Several of our products have received awards from the American Cheese Society (ACS). All of our cheeses are handcrafted in small batches at Smiling Hill Farm, a family owned dairy farm since 1720. The milk for our cheeses comes from Smiling Hill Farm and other Maine or New Hampshire dairy cow farms. Our milk suppliers do not use artificial growth hormones or feed supplemented with antibiotics for their cows, or chemical fertilizer on their pastures.

Our products include Probiotic Yogurt (plain and flavored), Fresh Cheddar Curd (plain and herbed), Cream Cheese, unaged cheeses (Rosemary's Waltz, Casco Bay Dulse, Queso de Verano; Queso Oaxaca, Mozzarella), bloomy rind cheeses (Brie, Camembert, Petit Coeur, Black Knight), aged cheeses (Provolone, Smoked Provolone, Moonchego, Tomme, Gertrude).

Springdale-Farm
Springdale Farm raises and milks registered Jersey and Guernsey dairy cattle in Waldo, Maine. Colby and Lois Whitcomb purchased their farm in 1951 and through the years, with the help of their five children, built a heritage of productive vibrant cows and high quality milk. In the early years of the farm Lois and Colby grew a market garden, had an egg delivery route and sold sides of beef and lamb alongside sales of their milk. Colby's parents, Eben and Nellie Whitcomb, purchased their homestead on Birches Road in Waldo in 1917. They milked cows and turned the cream into butter, which was taken by train to be sold at Faneuil Hall in Boston. With this rich farming heritage, the grand kids, Carrie and Holly Whitcomb are excited to take the farm back to its roots by direct marketing farm products to the community.

We are excited to share our passion for dairy by beginning a new farm venture:   Springdale Farm Creamery.   The creamery’s current focus is fresh Cream Cheese. This fresh product is in another league from what is found at your typical grocery store. Perfect for use in endless recipes or simply eaten on bagels or crackers.   Jersey and Guernsey milk, boasting the richest butterfat content of the dairy breeds, is ideal for transforming into such a creamy, delectable cheese.

Sunset-Acres
Sunset Acres Farm and Dairy is located on the banks of a tidal saltwater river in Downeast Maine. Because we use only the fresh milk from our herd of about 100 Nubian, Saanen and Alpine dairy goats, our cheeses are truly “farmstead”. We make a large variety of different goat cheeses, both fresh and surface ripened (such as Brie, Camembert, Valencay and more), several of which are award-winners. All of it is made using the old-fashioned European method of hand-ladling curd into cheesecloth bags or individual forms. While far more time-consuming and labor-intensive than more modern methods, we feel that treating the fragile goat curd this way produces a finer textured and flavored cheese.

We think that since our “girls” work hard to produce such wonderful milk, we had better do our utmost to process it into the finest of cheese. To this end we use only the highest quality ingredients, including European cultures and vegetable rennet, and for the herbed cheeses: fresh, hand-pressed garlic, freshly ground peppercorns and our own fresh, organically grown herbs or high quality dried herbs.

The-Milk-House
Located in Western Kennebec county just south of Cobbosseecontee Lake, the Milkhouse is a certified organic creamery that was created in the fall of 2012 by Caitlin Frame and Andy Smith. Our goal is for the farm to be a resource for the community, improve soil fertility & forage quality on the land while producing good, healthy food for the surrounding area.

Our yogurt begins with amazing milk from clean, happy, well fed cows. We strive to produce yogurt that is simple and delicious. Our yogurt is made with two ingredients: non pasteurized organic whole Jersey cow milk and live active cultures. The whole milk and active probiotic cultures produce a rich, cream topped yogurt with a mellow & mild flavor. Our flavored yogurts also include either organic Maine maple syrup, organic Maine grown wild blueberries, or Maine honey.

Tide-Mill-Creamery
Located on Maine's rugged and beautiful Downeast coast, Tide Mill Farm has been in the Bell family for nine generations. Tide Mill Creamery was founded in 2010, born of a passion for the precious connections between food and place.

We take joy in crafting certified organic cheese, yogurt, and kefir in our licensed creamery right on the farm. All of our milk is produced on farm as well. Tide Mill Organic Farm's herd of cows rotationally graze the seaside fields all summer, and our own herd of Nubian goats browse the woodland pastures around our home. We believe in terroir, the "taste of place" that makes our products unique in all the world, inextricably tied to this one beloved saltwater farm.
